2. Determine the processing sequence of the parts The processing sequence should be determined according to the technical requirements such as the type, structure, size, processing accuracy, surface roughness and heat treatment of the blank.

3. Determine the processing procedure Determine the machine tool, workpiece clamping method, processing method, processing size and testing method used in each procedure, including the allowance for the next procedure. Generally, the outer and inner cylinders and planes of small and medium-sized parts refer to the unilateral margin. In the case of single-piece and small-batch production, the larger blank size is selected as the fire value, and vice versa, the smaller value is selected.
