How to custom plastic product?
Injection molding is a manufacturing process for mass producing parts. It is most commonly used to mass-produce the same parts on a large scale, and the general formal production scale is tens of thousands or even millions of times.
Why Use Injection Molding:
The main advantage of injection molding is the ability to centrally scale up production. Once the machines and molds are ready, the price per unit of product during production is very low. Prices also drop dramatically as more parts are produced. Other advantages include:
Compared with traditional manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding produces low scrap rates and can reduce a large proportion of the original billet or plate. It may be slightly higher for the additive manufacturing process of 3D printing which has a relatively lower scrap rate. Waste plastic in injection molding production typically comes from: runners, gate locations and any flash that leaks from the part cavity
The runner is simply the channel that pours the molten plastic from the nozzle of the injection molding machine to the gate of the entire injection mold. It is separate from the mold itself. A runner is a system of channels connected to a gate that guides molten plastic into a cavity within a mold. After the injection mold is filled (typically only a few seconds), the entire molten plastic will cool, leaving solid plastic in the runners, gates, cavity itself, and possibly a little overflow on the edge of the part (if sealed bad words).
Thermoplastics are materials that can be recycled. Shred the gate/runner sprue and any scrap parts. These recycled materials are then added proportionally to new raw materials. (Some performance properties of plastics degrade as they are molded over and over again). Recycled materials are used for low-quality components that do not require high-performance properties.
Injection molding is a highly repeatable process. That said, the second part of production will be exactly the same as the first. This allows good control over product consistency and component reliability in high-volume production.
