Classification of incremental forming
Incremental forming is divided into negative forming and positive forming. Negative forming can form some parts with relatively simple shapes. Each layer is processed. The forming tool head descends a certain distance to carry out the processing of the second layer, so until the end, the clamp clamps the sheet material and does not move all the time during the processing.

For parts with complex shapes, positive forming methods should be used. In the positive forming method, a support model is required, and the shape of the support model must be consistent with the shape of the formed part. This support model is very different from the mold in stamping forming. The accuracy of the support model is not very high, and the material The choice is more flexible.
In this forming method, the support model is processed first, and then the sheet is placed on the support model. The subsequent processing steps are basically the same as the negative forming. The supporting plate will drive the sheet and the forming tool head to move down the same distance together.

Features of the incremental forming method
The forming ability of the sheet metal in the incremental forming process has been improved. It can be seen from the forming limit diagram that the forming limit can be expressed by max minε+ε. Influence of Forming Angle on Surface Quality of Parts
From the formed parts, it can be clearly seen that there is a big difference in surface quality between the gentle curved surface and the steep surface with a large forming angle. On the gentle surface, there are obvious tool head extrusion traces on the surface of the part, and the surface quality is poor; while on the steep surface, the surface quality of the part is good. is the processing trajectory of the part when the forming angle changes under the given feed rate of each layer. It can be seen that with the increase of the forming angle, the residual peak height of the part surface becomes smaller and smaller. However, the surface corrugation of the actually processed part The peak height of the peak is much larger than the theoretical value on the gentle surface. As the forming angle increases, the peak height decreases rapidly, and the difference from the theoretical value becomes smaller and smaller.
